Accessibility statement

Current state

This website was built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at conformance level AA. On our own assessment it meets the requirements of that level. An independent external audit has not yet taken place.

Measures taken

• All content exists as real text in the document. Nothing essential lives only inside a graphic or an animation.
• The whole site can be operated with a keyboard. Focus is always visible and follows the visual order.
• A skip link at the top of the page leads straight to the main content.
• Text contrast reaches at least 4.5 to 1, tested also against the busiest frame of any animated background.
• The system setting for reduced motion is honoured. In that case parallax, scroll animation and page transitions are removed entirely.
• Motion can additionally be switched off independently of the operating system using a control in the menu.
• Forms have visible labels; errors are given as text, associated with their field and announced to assistive technology.
• The page remains usable up to 200 per cent zoom without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

• The embedded OpenStreetMap view comes from a third party and is only partly keyboard operable. The full address and written directions are therefore also provided as text on the contact page.
• Some construction terms cannot be expressed in plain language without becoming inaccurate. We explain them on first use.
